Verizon FiOS - 2PointHome site launch

Our friends at CampfireNYC have conceived of a reality-based t.v. show in which families who are plagued with old technology (or even worse, NO technology) in their homes get a total makeover by three “techno-gurus”. The entire production, including the website, is now live and families in the Philadelphia area are getting their homes made over with all-new technology and gadgetry powered by Verizon’s smoking-fast fiber optic broadband service.

CSI Museum Exhibit

We've spent the past 4 months working with former Disney Imagineer-turned-Producer, Bob Weis, in the design of the new CSI Interactive Museum exhibit which will open at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry on May 25th. Variety magazine published a brief article on the exhibit—and the nature of its creation—in their online edition this past January.

A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Clicks

BVH_screencap.jpg

We're proud to unveil the freshly re-branded website for photographer and filmmaker, Ben Van Hook. The site places his incredible work at the forefront, while a database rearranges and organizes images in the background. The site is the latest to utilize our Content Management System (JuicyCMS) which allows our clients to update their sites as they see fit -- with no html or programming knowledge needed.

Audi gets their Game On

We are very proud of our relationships with some of the creative industries' most brilliant minds. Take, for example, the just-completed Audi A3 campaign. Juicy Temples was hired to design several of the key web-components for the Stolen Audi A3 Campaign in partnership with our friends at Campfire (Haxan's Mike Monello/Gregg Hale and Chelsea Pictures) and GMD Studios. The project, funneled through the talented folks at McKinney+Silver in North Carolina, has been incredibly well received by Audi fans, internet gamers and the national press — not to mention the folks at Audi.

Moriarty + Harwell

We have all grown tired of the standard-fair attorney/legal campaigns. Needless to say, we jumped at the chance to help a local (and incredibly forthright and passionate) attorney develop a new campaign. Beth Moriarty of the law firm Moriarty & Harwell in Maitland approached us to partner in solidifying her vision for an ethically-driven, moral-minded lawfirm. A soup-to-nuts campaign that involved identity and collateral development, print ads, radio/television ads, and website design and development. Completed over the past 5 months, the campaign is just now being unveiled in its totality. Much of the designwork - and even the television spots - are viewable at the Moriarty and Harwell website.

"Altered" Movie

We've always enjoyed our entertainment-industry work… doing show posters for bands has been a blast for sure. But even more exciting is the work we have been doing for the film industry. We have recently completed the logo design and are currently working on the web-marketing components for "Altered" — the next feature film release by Ed Sanchez, Gregg Hale, and Rob Cowie of Haxan Films. Yes, with shooting now complete and editing underway, the creators of the Blair Witch Project are at it again.

Ben Van Hook website

Speaking of film… Recently added to the studio's client-roster is the amazingly talented photographer and filmmaker, Ben Van Hook. We first met Ben when he shot the beautiful photography used in our site design for composer Colin O'Malley. Ben has now come to JTC to have his own website re-designed and developed. The site design that will feature Ben's incredible imagery has already been completed to his liking and the production now begins. Look for an official launch sometime in August. Meanwhile, enjoy this humble sampling of his incredible photography:

We are nearing completion on the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation's Florida Affiliate site. the 2005 Central Florida Race for the Cure will be held at
Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park on Saturday, October 8th.

JT TV.

We’ve broken into a new medium and hit the ground running. Cable & Wireless West Indies, a global telecommunications provider, wanted to raise brand awareness and shed their monopolistic image throughout the Caribbean region. They asked us to develop television spots that portrayed who they really were, so we teamed up with Haxan Films, of "Blair Witch Project" fame, to create the Proud To Be television campaign. The spots (view them in the portfolio/broadcast section of the JTC site) featured local known figures and personalities, including an Olympic runner, talking about their lives and how they are proud to be a part of the Cable & Wireless family. Cable & Wireless needed an additional campaign to promote their 1-800-CALL-USA service. We could have hired an actor to get this message across, but that would have been no fun. Instead we used Elvis, a local cab driver, to get the job done. In light of Elvis’s personality and occupation, humor was the most successful way to drive the campaign message home. The king would be proud. Thanks to comprehensive planning and an extremely talented crew we were able to shoot all eight commercials in five days, keeping cost well below the average national campaign budget. Thank you. Thank you very much.

Racy Design Raises Eyebrows. Awareness of Breast Cancer Follows Suit.

Recently, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation asked JT to design the promotional collateral for the Komen Central Florida Race For The Cure. The project presented a few unique challenges. The race itself was moved from Daytona Beach to Orlando and was now being held in October, breast cancer awareness month, instead of March. Therefore it was necessary to fit a lot of information into limited space. Instead of cluttering it up with busy logos and cramped type, we did the opposite. We let it breathe, gave it some clearance and the end result was happy we did. The breast cancer awareness ribbon inspired the colors, and the tone was set by the seriousness of the disease and the courage of the survivors. It wouldn't be right if we just designed the collateral without participating, so we threw on our sneakers and walked in the noncompetitive 5K race. We were moved by the experience and strongly encourage participation next year. Actually, we have already started training.

Make-A-Wish Foundation Declares: It’s Time To Ride Out.

Due to the success of our previous work for the Make-A-Wish Foundation we’ve had the privilege of designing other collateral for their events including the most recent Make-A-Wish Ride For Wish Kids. It’s a 40-mile motorcycle ride to raise money for granting the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. We referenced motorcycle ads and posters of times past. For color we used the Make-A-Wish traditional blue, but incorporated a dark metallic ink to pay respect to the chrome road hogs. The result was an attention grabbing design with motorcycle appeal, softened just enough for the cause. Make-A-Wish is now incorporating the design into a t-shirt and pin to be given to participants of the ride on January 30th, 2005.

Vostok Hits The Road

Good luck to Orlando band Vostok as they embark on tour to promote their new full-length, This Scavenger Low. We just completed a rock-n-roll project for them including CD Packaging, shirts, buttons and stickers. It's all been extremely well received. We can't wait to find a few moments to photograph the work and get it up here.

Caribbean Broadcast Success

Just a week ago, we travelled to the Caribbean with our Haxan Films friends. With a crew of only seven, we managed to shoot 7 spots in 5 days! The footage is being edited now, so please check back in a month or so and we'll be sure to post the finished pieces.

MAW British Invasion

This past Saturday, we partied at a giant fund raiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We sponsored and created the collateral for the event, which was themed as a British Bash... Graphically, we melded the Austin Powers look with a little punk rock aesthetic! The event was a blast as we watched folks like the sweet news anchor, Shawn Killinger of Channel 6 WKMG, get auctioned off to the highest bidder. And today, we wish the event coordinator, Molly Collins, farewell as she heads to grad school in Austin,Texas. We'll miss you Molly!

French Paper Poster

Here's a dream project for us as creatives... The well-respected French Paper Company commissioned us to design a poster to promote the fact that the paper was now stocked locally by one of its distributors, xpedx. We decided that since the Florida rep, Shepherd Cary, was such an outrageous and fun personality, it was only right to make her the focus of the poster. Our writer, Mark Freid, came up with the French Chef theme and local illustrator Billy Davis added the fresh portrait of Shepherd. We have a stack of posters here, so when you visit the studio, just ask for one to take with ya
